Pattern Prep & Fabric Cutting You’ve chosen your pattern—now it’s time to get it ready to sew! In this hands-on class, we’ll take the next step toward making your own clothes by learning how to prepare your pattern, work with your fabric, and accurately cut your garment pieces. In this class, you’ll learn: -How to select the right fabric for your pattern -How to understand fabric grain and direction -How to prepare and pre-treat your fabric -How to choose the correct pattern size -How to work between different sizes on a multi-size pattern -How to prepare and cut your pattern pieces -How to properly place pattern pieces on fabric -How to follow grainlines and fabric layout guides -How to transfer important markings and notches -How to cut accurately for better-fitting garments We’ll focus on the details that make the difference between “I cut it out” and “I’m ready to sew this.” Come ready to get hands-on and take your first real step toward making your own wardrobe. Prerequisite: Sewing 104 or equivalent pattern-reading experience.

Cancellations & Rescheduling: Need to change your plans? No problem! You may cancel or reschedule your class up to 24 hours before the scheduled class start time. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before class, including same-day requests and no-shows, are not eligible for a refund, credit, or transfer to another class. Late Arrivals: Please arrive on time so you can get the most out of your sewing experience.
