You’ve sewn your garment together—now it’s time to make it beautifully finished. In Sewing 106: Finish Like a Pro, you’ll learn the techniques that take a handmade garment from simply “finished” to polished, professional, and ready to wear. We’ll explore the details that are often overlooked but make a huge difference in the look, feel, and longevity of your garments. In this class, you’ll learn: 🧵 Seam Finishes Learn different ways to finish raw edges, including serging, zigzag finishes, French seams, and bias-bound seams. ✂️ Professional Seam Preparation Learn when to clip, notch, trim, and grade your seams for cleaner construction and better-fitting garments. 👗 Beautiful Hems Explore different hemming techniques and learn how to choose the right finish for different fabrics and garment styles. ✨ Clean Edges & Facings Learn how to create smooth, professional-looking necklines, armholes, waistbands, and other garment edges. 🪡 Pressing & Final Details Discover why pressing is one of the most important steps in garment construction and how proper pressing can transform your finished piece. 🔍 The Final Finish Learn how to inspect your garment, clean up loose threads, secure seams, and give your handmade garment those final professional touches. By the end of this class, you’ll understand why the inside of a garment matters just as much as the outside and have the skills to give your handmade clothes a more polished, intentional finish. Prerequisite: Sewing 103–105 or equivalent garment construction experience. Come ready to slow down, pay attention to the details, and learn how to finish like a pro.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before class, including same-day requests and no-shows, are not eligible for a refund, credit, or transfer to another class. Late Arrivals: Please arrive on time so you can get the most out of your sewing experience.
